What is IMplantation Spotting?
Implantation bleeding is a light bleeding that occurs when the fertilised egg attaches its self to the walls of the uterine lining.
Many women often think their period is about to start when they notice implantation bleeding.
It is easy to confuse between normal early pregnancy spotting and menstrual period.
Signs of implantation spotting

What are the differences between implantation bleeding and period?
Implantation blood is lighter in color or darker in color than your normal menstrual blood.
Implantation blood is usually light pinkish or dark brownish. Dark brown discharge signifies that the blood is old and a light pink blood signifies that the blood is fresh.
Period blood is mostly bright red blood.
Flow and Amount
Bleeding from implantation is light and would stay light throughout out the short duration. Implantation bleeding isn't a heavy flow.
Menstruation blood is heavier. Starting lighter on the first day and it gets heavier as the days goes by.
Implantation spots usually last for a few hours or 1 -2 days. And it usually happens on and off.
Menstrual period usually last between 3-7 days. The blood gets heavier on day 2 and 3.

1. Sore or Tender breast
Breast tenderness is both a PMS symptom and an early sign of pregnancy. After implantation, the level of estrogen and progesterone hormone increases.
Breast changes start as early as 1 to 2 weeks after fertilisation has occurred.
2. Tiredness or Fatigue
Increasing level of progesterone hormone produced by human chronic gonadotropin(HCG) after a successful implantation is one of the reason why you feel tired and fatigue in early pregnancy.

All these activities can make you more tired and sleepy.
3. Food cravings or Aversion
Due to the increasing level of hormones, you may start to desire spicy, salty, sour or sweet foods.
You may also feel like throwing up at the sight or smell of some of your favourite foods.
The main cause of craving and aversion is unknown but it is believed that surging levels of hormones are responsible.
Your body also know what it needs, so craving a particular food may mean your body needs the vitamins or nutrients from the food.
4. Frequent urination
You make feel like you are starting to pee a lot. This can happen as early as 1 to 2 weeks after conception has taken place.
After implantation, the uterus gets bigger and puts pressure on the bladder. This makes you to visit the toilet more than usual.
Also rising levels of hormones, makes your kidney to work harder.
5. Implantation cramping
Implantation cramping is a mild cramping that occurs during the implantation process.
It is so mild that it doesn't cause discomfort as menstrual pain.
Implantation cramps can happen as early as 1 week after conception.
And it may or may not be accompanied by light bleeding.
6. Light spotting or bleeding
Light pink or brown spotting is one of the first signs of pregnancy that occurs during implantation.
It occurs around 6 to 12 days after conception when the fertilised egg attaches itself to the lining of the uterus.
Implantation discharge or blood is very light and should not be heavy that it soaks a pad or your underwear.
